Of course it depends on the width between the ribs. Cut the wood to the size of the back of the light fixture. Screw the wood piece to your siding. You'll probably have to drill new holes in the light fixture in order to screw it to the wood and siding. Or, you could buy a handful of thick washers, and use those to make up for the gap between the fixture and the ribs/siding.
