I just tried an M6 bolt in the jaws and it worked ok. This tool has been a godsend for me, it works very well. **Q: Would this work with hook or fisheye hook end rather than a screwhead going into the anchor?** A: Not sure. There is a recess about 1cm square behind the slotted plate that retains the screw head, which is pulled when the handle is squeezed. If your eye hook is small enough i.e. the size of a cheesehead screw no more than 1cm diameter it may fit. Any bigger than that and it won't go into the recessed area. The answer for me would be to use a 'normal' screwhead to pull the anchor fitting into place with the gun, then unscrew the screw and replace with same thread eye bolt. Then tighten normally by twisting. **Q: Hi, what's the maximum screw this will take please. Head and shank dia. Thanks Brian** A: You can get a 7 mm diameter screw in to the tool. The maximum head diameter the tool will take is approximately 11.5mm. Hope this is of some use. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great for money *by A***R on 13 August 2025* good tool ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic bit of kit *by M***Y on 8 September 2020* Stout bit of kit that works well, just note that you need a good bit of grip strength to get this going. It works really well and gives me much more confidence in my anchors rather than doing this with a drill! Should have bought one sooner. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value - does the job. *by A***D on 12 December 2014* First of all this is was a good price as other vendors sell for a lot more. Before using it I checked out "how to " tips and found some useful stuff on YouTube. And then I found sound scrap wood and used the tool to check drill size for the anchors I was using etc. I recommend people do this before making holes in their plaster board. Then used the tool to set anchors (10mm dia from Screwfix) for a heavy shelf. Overall recommended but don't know how good it will be after more usage hence 4 stars. ## Frequently Bought Together - Silverline Wall Anchor Setting Tool 170mm (633753) - Glarks 80Pcs 6 Size Heavy Duty Zinc Plated Steel Molly Bolt Hollow Drive Wall Anchor Screws Assortment Kit for Drywall, Plaster and Tile --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pl/products/50212422-wall-anchor-setting-tool-170mm-633753](https://www.desertcart.pl/products/50212422-wall-anchor-setting-tool-170mm-633753) --- *Product available on Desertcart Poland* *Store origin: PL* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
