We wanted an LED torch that was always available if required and these fitted the bill as they sit in their cradle which you leave plugged into a power socket - so always ready to go when needed. There is also a useful nightlight built into the end of the handle so they provide a bit of light when it's dark and makes them easier to locate. If there's a power cut, the torch illuminates straight away, so providing some immediate emergency lighting and torch is ready to go. Really handy to have setup near a consumer unit. We bought the 'twin' pack - one for upstairs and one for downstairs.
