Review: Excellent. - I bought and used this on a second attempt at a painting job which hadn't worked out too well due to paint creeping underneath some "regular" masking tape. The difference was like night and day - the Tesa Precision Edge tape resulted in an excellent finish which I'm really happy with. The job involved masking over some wood which had been varnished 2 weeks previously and also in some areas over a final coat of emulsion which had been applied the previous day. The tape removed perfectly, without pulling up any varnish or emulsion and left a perfect line. I note there are a few comments in reviews here about the Tesa Precision tape pulling off paint underneath - it was as a result of these that I originally delayed buying the Tesa tape and attempted the job above using "regular" masking tape first, which I regret. All I can say is that there is clearly a trade-off between masking tape sticking well enough to provide a nice clean finish yet still being easy to remove without damaging a surface underneath. If the paint you are masking over has not been applied well or the surface below it was not properly prepared then I suspect most masking tape is going to pull some of it off. Leaving the paint underneath to cure as long as possible will also help (I was a little apprehensive about masking one-day-old emulsion...). For me this tape is excellent and well worth the premium over "regular" masking tape. It gave a clean line and did not damage the one-day-old coat of emulsion underneath. I have seen it cheaper around than the £5.25 I paid for it here on desertcart, although shipping costs might nullify this if you weren't placing a large enough order with another supplier to get free shipping (hooray for desertcart Super Saver Delivery). You will see this tip in other reviews but I cannot stress this enough to you: Do not just rely on this (or any) tape to avoid paint bleeding underneath and creating rough edges. Yes the tape does a reasonable job but if you want perfection you should "seal the tape". It's really easy to do -- if you are putting the tape, on say a white wall, then you paint over the tape with some white paint first (enough to cover the joining edge). Seriously, first paint the colour underneath not the new colour. Then when the white is dry enough you paint your new colour over the top. If you haven't tried this before then prepare to have your mind blown at the result. Essentially by applying some of the white paint (or whatever colour is under your tape) first you are allowing that white paint to bleed under/into the imperfections of the tape. When dry it creates a perfect seal that prevents any of your new colour from getting under the tape and spoiling your lines.

**Q: Will this rip off my wallpaper when I want to paint my skirting boards**
A: never tried it on wallpaperbut it seems very low tack--get it and try a bit in a corner.Just reminded myself by getting the Tesa tape out.I would be very surprised if it damaged your wallpaper.It is the best masking tape I have tried .Hope this helps.

**Q: Can you safely use this on coloured uvpc window frames?**
A: If the windows were manufactured as coloured it shouldn’t be a problem. If you have painted the UPVC over white then it depend on the quality of paint used. The pink tape works very well on previously painted surfaces and wall papers. The yellow tape works best on plastic. In either scenario once you have painted remove the tape neither tape should pull off what was underneath . Try a small area first.

**Q: Just wondering if by some miracle anyone has used this tape successfully between two textured paper surface, such as anaglypta?**
A: Mine was on 10 year old flat paper, so would have thought textured paper would be more robust tbh

**Q: What’s the difference between sensitive and indoor?**
A: The sensitive tape is pink and can’t be used for outside jobs. I use it for when painting a wall that joins a wallpapered wall, the pink tape can be put over the wall papered edge to stop the paint being put on the other wall getting onto wallpaper. Sensitive means it won’t pull the wallpaper off when you remove the tape  . To be used on sensitive  surfaces that have say a decorative paint work finish on them and it won’t pull paint off when you take tape off or allow paint to seep under it spoiling the area you wanted to protect like the Green Frog Tape will. The Outdoor tape which is Yellow can also be used indoors as well it is good for when painting around window frames or where you would use masking tape - masking tape allows paint to seep under and spoil area you didn’t want to paint - the yellow tape stops this from happening can be used almost anywhere but not for sensitive areas - like say art work, use pink tape for this , or wall papered walls . I use both they both work as long as you properly stick the tape down.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Painting feature walls? Get this tape!

After struggling with Frog Tape and others over the years, I was recommended to try Tesa tapes. A very well know brand among decorators and the trade. The sensitive one was recommended as it has just the right amount of tack to get a clean line but without removing any paint when you remove the tape. A big issue when painting walls in a new build house or freshly plastered walls. This tape excelled where others failed. Perfect straight lines with no pulling off paint from already painted surfaces or bleeding through. This is a great tape for doing feature walls for those crisp, straight lines. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Remember, it’s all in the prep!
