APut the ankle ice pack into the Freezer at-20° for 1-2 hours, or the microwave to heat up for 10-15 seconds, and then take out the ice pack for ankle to wear, and keep ankle ice pack wrap in place for approximately 15-20 minutes.Cold Therapy: Place in freezer bag and put in freezer for at least two hoursHeat Therapy: Remove from any plastic bags. Do not submerge in water. Worth its weight in gold. Only complaint is the slit up the back to accomadate bigger calves, but I just put an ice pack under there to hit the entire foot...toes, heals to over the ankle area ( fractured ankle and soft tissue damage. Putting this sleeve on when needed is like wearing a bra for 72hrs and finally taking it off... instant satisfying relief. It stays cold for the time needed, and doesnt take long to freeze again
