Well, the factory one was HORRIBLY dirty (and I live in the city and have not exposed my car to any particular harsh or dusty environments). I ordered this filter and it came quickly and most importantly fits perfectly; it is completely identical to the factory unit. It took all of 5 minutes, and now my car seems to even pull a little better (but could be my imagination). Regardless, this is an essential maintenance item that should be replaced MORE frequently than what is recommended by the manufacturer (in my opinion). Subaru recommends replacing the air filter at 30K miles, and then at 90K, which is WAY too long. Going forward I will be replacing mine at 15K miles at least. Review: Well priced, slightly cheaper than the parts department at my local Subaru dealership.
