It actually turned out to be a really easy process, no burning at all, and pretty easy to remove mistakes. My lashes are black now, but unfortunately still thin. It's really nice on bottom lashes so you can skip mascara on them. If I put mascara on my bottom lashes I always get fallout or smudges.
