**Q: What is the difference in appearance between the 1. with cooling pad and 2. without cooling pad options? Secondly, how does the cooling pad operate?**
A: Ok : with cooling pad, there are two fans fitted under the main section of the table operated by a usb lead which plugs in to your laptop : without, guess what, no fans.Do you need the fans? - Generally I'd say no, but, if your laptop runs hot after some use, perhaps they may help.  I personally, opted for a table with no fans.  Very good other than the adjustments on the legs which most users say are problematic. Still worth buying as a good quality table

**Q: Will the central part hold a 17" laptop?**
A: Hello, this has been a live saver staying bed for a long time and I was able to use my lap top. The part that lifts up is just about 15 inches wide, so your 17 inch lap top will still fit on it.  Hope you enjoy it as much asI enjoy mine. Regards, Madeleine
