Mine is not slippery even when there is a lot of soap on it. It had small drainage holes that let the soapy water run out. Very satisfied with it. Will have a funny smell when new and dry but it goes away after about 1 week of daily use. **Q: How do you get rid of awful, chemical odor of this mat?** A: Hi! I didn't have a chemical odor with this mat. That being said, why don't you try soaking it in a tub that has a few inches of warm water that has had baking soda mixed in it. That should remove the smell. **Q: Has anyone used this with a tub that has a slight texture? I imagine the suction cups would not have any suction and the mat would float.** A: My tub doesn't have the slightest of texture-ing but I do know what you are talking about. My mat clings to my tub and it hasn't moved on me except for when I clean the tub. I took mine out for you and filled my tub with 2 inches or so of water then I laid it back on top of the water. The mat is heavy enough it sank to the bottom, I did have to push some air out from under it but it wasn't floating. In my case this is the best mat I"ve had and I'll surely buy another one when the time comes. I believe the extra length makes a big difference at securing its self to a tub simply because there are so many more cups. I believe the cups are a bit larger than the ones that were on my old mat which was a total waste of money. The cups on my old mat were a bit taller and the corners were pulling up a lot. I strongly believe if it was to work out for you-you would be as happy as I am with it. I know nobody likes risking spending money on something that is worthless but it's what 12-13 dollars and it wouldn't be a total loss because, LOL it could be used as a unusual gift. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Long, fills the whole bath aaaaand Machine washable!! *by T***Y on 6 May 2019* Hi Guys.I bought 1 of these (Red) not long after moving into my current accommodation, as the 1 here was mank!!I've bought this 1 (Blue) so that I can have 1 in the wash, while the other is in the bath, so I can wash it when it fits in with me & not when it fits in with everyone else not needing the shower, as we all work different hours.Machine washable, I put it in with the shower curtain and a few towels, washed on a 40'c synthetics wash & limited the spin to 400, due to its weight. I also didn't use conditioner, might experiment with that maybe lol. At the end of the wash, I took the shower mat out & set the rest on a normal spin cycle.It seems to have survived, no signs of fatigue, but only time will tell how resilient this is after multiple wash cycles.It's quite sturdy, as opposed to flimsy thin stuff, so I'm not expecting it to tear in half when I'm pulling up allll the suckers from the bath next time.I've had the red one 6 months now, looks just as good as when I fitted it :-)Would definitely recommend - as part of making life (Cleaning) easier! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great mat, good value! *by G***B on 12 November 2015* The extra long size is perfect for my bath. It sticks very well and is not slippery at all. It is very white (not off white), which gives the mat a nice, clean look. I have not had it for long enough to see whether it is resistant to mould (the mats I used previously always got mouldy, despite regular bleaching) but according to the packaging the mat can be washed in the washing machine to prevent moulding and pleased to say no sign of mould so far! We bought this mat as a temporary fix for a peeling cast iron roll top bath, works a treat but could've been thicker however the price was good.
