It is a superb rice that I have used constantly for the last 20 years. **Q: Is the jar plastic or glass?** A: It's plastic. The bottom fell out of mine. That didn't stop me getting a second one though. It's much cheaper than buying the small 500g packs at the local supermarkets. **Q: Can the plastic container be recycled?** A: I presume so, I use mine to store spaghetti in at home. I have used them for all sorts of different things around the house and garden. For cooking I get good results on the hob, in the oven and in the microwave which makes it very versatile, unlike some brands. What more could I ask from a store cupboard staple?
