Nappy leather and suede should be brushed to restore the nap after dyeing. This heavily pigmented liquid will also work well on smooth leathers. I had some navy sandals but wanted them to be black so brought this. I will say you need some time, patience a small make-up brush and some tape. I taped up my shoes-the wool dauber was too big for all the fiddly bits so grabbed a dense make-up brush. KEY POINTERS: A good brush to start with and lift the nap Taped up the shoes to make it easier for myself Saturated the dye throughout on first coat Brushed again when dry after first coat to prepare for second coat Second coat was a breeze! I finally sealed them with waterproofing spray ( so I don’t get black feet) The black colour is very intense which is great, thankfully I didn’t end up with too much dye on my hands but washed off easily. Very good value for money and a lovely little craft, plus I now have super shoes to wear! Would highly recommend - trust the process and take your time in the prep part. I have only used this brand once before when I purchased their leather dye and that was really good as well. I really liked the dauber applicator (wipe excess off too avoid waste and leaking on footwear) as it made dyeing my trainers super easy.
