The clamp is extremely well made, with excellent machining and a secure grip on standard 15mm rods. Once tightened, it doesn't slip or twist, even when supporting accessories that are moved or adjusted regularly. In my setup, it's become part of a custom mounting solution alongside other SmallRig components, helping me position accessories exactly where I want them rather than being restricted to fixed mounting points on the camera cage. Having multiple 1/4"-20 threaded holes also makes it surprisingly versatile, whether you're mounting articulating arms, accessory brackets or other rigging hardware. My FX30 rig has gradually evolved to include a HawkLock cage, top handle, 15mm rod baseplate, V-mount power system, DJI Focus Pro follow focus and Portkeys LH5C monitor.
