It turned on by pressing the volume knob in for a moment, pressing it in, while it's on, switches inputs, of which there are two. One 3.5mm jack and two RCA connectors. It didn't come with a UK plug, just a European one, and I had to find a UK to IEC C7 to connect the power brick. The amp can run on 12V or 24V. The power supply was labeled 24V.It sounded good, but there is noise audible at close listening distances regardless of volume. This was with 8 ohm speakers. Changing power supply and using 12V makes no difference, it sounds like electrical noise from within the amp. Maybe because the gain settings to the 3118 chip are set high. In a quiet room, I can tell when the amp is on, even when there's no input. Not necessarily a problem, but the amp becomes warm even when not playing music, which I wasn't expecting from a digital amp. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sounds great, but runs hot. *by C***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 October 2018* I used this to replace a mini hi-fi system, used for my TV sound.Yes there was a dramatic step up in sound quality. Much sharper and distinct. However it runs really hot.It is on an open shelf and even when just idling (no sound, but turned on) the case reaches a temperature that is only just comfortable to touch (,about 50C), which is a worry. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great unit for my requirements *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 January 2018* My elderly Technics amp developed a fault and was unusable, and has been for almost a year. It was fairly redundant anyway as I only ran my turntable and my Mac through it; I no longer used the tape deck, CD player or the tuner.This amp solved a number of problems, in terms of its size, functionality and so far I have no complaints about the sound. I run both the Mac and the turntable: the former into the 3.5mm jack input and the latter, via a pre-amp, into the normal audio input.
