It connects to the network with wifi. The USB port is for charging ONLY. **Q: Could i run a cad program on it? it is not very demanding.** A: Depending on system requirements..... yes I run a home 3D designer on it. It is a little slow at 3D rendering but works. **Q: CAN YOU USE A SIM CARD OR 3G/4G DONGLE OR IS IT ONLY WIFI TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET?** A: You could use a USB dongle with it, it doesn't have a similar card tray though. It worked straight out of the box, I added a 4 port usb3 hub and a 4 gb and 2 gb hard drive no problems whatsoever....the only slight problem I had is sorting audio out due to putting unit thru surround sound unit...added a 64gb micro sd card for bit more internal storage...Installed kodi to use unit as a media centre .No issues with wifi but my unit sits close to routerOver all I'm impressed my only minus is it could do with holding a 128gb micro card but perhaps that will come with a firmware update ### ⭐⭐ not great *by K***T on 23 December 2016* well packaged and a very nice looking peice of kit. I had to send it back to amazon because the wifi was constantly dropping out. tried on a multitude of different access points all with the same result, making it useless.
