The product itself was compactly and neatly stacked within shrink wrap type packaging. After opening, there is an instruction sheet showing how to fold the boxes together but it wasn't really necessary for me. I only saw it after I'd put the first few together. Once assembled the cardboard organizer boxes feel fairly sturdy for the type of material that they are composed of. I feel they are more sturdy than the average cardboard box or a flimsy plastic file box. Due to the nature of cardboard, they will be only as durable as the care used in storing them. The boxes fit neatly into my lateral file drawers exactly how I'd hoped. The hanging files don't fit quite as well as I hoped causing me to have to spend additional time getting the file hooks to stay on the sides of the organizer boxes.
