## Description

Elite cycling project gives you a warm winter cycling glove designed to withstand cold and wet conditions. Constructed from a windproof outer shell and lined with thermal insulated Thinsulate fabric. In between these layers is a waterproof membrane to keep the water away from your hands. The palms are padded for comfort and protection and have a reinforced grip on the palms, fingers and thumbs, made from non-slip PU suede which is slip resistant even when wet. The cycling gloves also feature wide extended close fitting cuff with a Velcro closure to ensure a a water tight fit around the wrist to keep the cold and rain out and the warm in. Ideal for your commute in colder weather or for recreational cycling. There are two colours available, hi visibility green – great to highlight your hand signals when on the road, and black. Superb for cycling but are a great cold weather glove for other sports or just to wear when out in the cold. These gloves can be washed by machine at a low temperature.

Review: So far so good - but watch sizing - I have got through A LOT of bike gloves over the years and these appear so far to be very good, based on 3-4 rides in 3-4 degree UK winter weather and at least one very wet, drizzly ride (9 miles each way to work btw). Not the worst weather for a UK winter, but getting there. In fact as some have said, your hands get almost too warm. Nice problem to have. My previous go to winter gloves which seemed to beat every other in terms of warmth were a pair of increasingly worn out ski gloves that I bought (I think) at Halfords many years ago. The key thing they had - like these gloves - was the 'proper' Thinsulate lining. I think there are some imitators out there but as far as I can work out, the proper stuff is made by 3M, and labelled as such, as on these. As cyclists will know, apart from the basics of keeping your hands warm and dry, you have to balance this with actually being able to use your fingers for the brakes and gear shifters so it's no good just buying thick winter gloves, which I have also tried - you can't operate your bike very well. The old pair of ski gloves achieved this balance brilliantly - very warm but very mobile - have not yet found a pair to match them. But they were not very waterproof at all, unfortunately. So only good for very cold - but also dry - rides. I wouldn't say these are the most manoeuvrable in that regard, being quite stiff, but they're better than my last effort - a pair of 'waterproof' gloves with woollen ones underneath. Irritating to put on and off, clumsy on your hand, and on the last wet ride both completely soaked through. The one thing I would also mention is that as others have said, the sizing is way too small. I bought the Large on this advice and they are pretty tight on my very medium-sized hands (I'm bang on average male height and size all round really) - so watch out for that. I was even thinking of getting the XL on the basis I may still need to wear woollies underneath but, happily, don't think I will need to. I also like the bright high-viz backs, if you get that version. Yes, I am not too cool to use hand signals. I cycle right across London most days - enough said. Will edit this review a few months on to let you know how they are bearing up.
Review: Be careful with the sizing! - A warm glove although I feel they may be a bit 'sweaty' when the warmer weather arrives. They have a slightly clammy feel as if breathability may be a problem. A good buy for the price though. My only gripe is with the sizing information. Had I not asked the question to other purchasers, I would have gone for large. My hands are not particularly large and the extra large are perfect. A better way of sizing would be desireable. It can't be that hard!! Update; Been using these for a couple of years now. Warm enough when dry inside but my initial fears were justified. They get very sweaty and hence lose any warming effect as it is like putting on wet (and smelly) gloves. I sometimes give them a 30 sec microwave before going out in cold weather but when sweaty the fingers become too hot to wear. The stitching has come away on one finger and inside there is what appears to be a disposable nitrile (or similar) glove layer which would explain the lack of breathability and also the method of waterproofing.. Hard to dry when wet as fingers very hard to turn inside out.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How is the grip on these? I'm looking for warm waterproof gloves for pushing myself in my wheelchair and grip is very important.**
A: These are comfy, well fitting gloves with good drip. However, I can't comment about the waterproofing as I have not used them as yet in the rain, sorry.

**Q: How waterproof are these 4hrs+ ? Are they warm**
A: Unbelievably waterproof - I had an earlier pair which I wore almost to death - and where a seam at the wrist wore out I found out why - there’s a thin plastic membrane in the glove. In snowballing yesterday my hands stayed dry the WHOLE time, and yes they’re toasty warm. Wearing them every day on the bike peddling hard, my first pair is still going strong but I got a second pair so I can wash the first, as they get a little whiffy after an hour every day. DELIGHTED with them. Best gloves ever, (and no, I have no connection with the brand or the seller. I really love these gloves, (and I wear them on he train too). Go on - treat yourself :-)

Oh yes - one last thing - these have clearly been designed by a regular cyclist because if you’re shifting on the drops you wear out the finger tips - these are cunningly re enforced, plus there’s pads on the top of the palm so on long rides you don’t get “road buzz” if you’ve thin tape on the tops. Love these gloves !!

**Q: What's the difference between the malmo and the oulo apart from price?**
A: All i hnow is that the malmo are well padded thick water proof and keep hands warm. I found them not suitable for cycling because of the thickness of them but excellent for every day use jogging or walk etc. Hope this helps

**Q: Is it vegan? I would like to know about the PU-suede, is it synthetic?**
A: To actually answer your question for you, (unlike Mr 'No idea and 'Couldnt Care'), PU suede is synthetic and 100% vegan!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I wanted warm gloves
*by A***R on 31 August 2020*

These gloves are great!! Unbelievably warm. I’m 6ft 3in with fairly big hands and xl fits me perfect. These gloves feel quite bulky at first as they are pretty thick and padded but soon got used to them. The thickness of the gloves make them very comfortable on the handlebars. Early morning is only 5 deg but thats not really cold enough, hands sweat during a fast cycle with plenty effort and the gloves are not breathable, i have other gloves which are breathable and hands still end up soaked with sweat, guess i’ll need to either take it easy or move to the North pole to get the full benefit. Rain seems to have no effect on these gloves. If you want warm gloves be careful what you wish for!,
