Dries in a minute or so on decent cartridge paper and is then fairly waterproof. After a few more minutes it is waterproof so doesn't give you much time to work with for sketching. Will have to try it on Bristol board sometime, it has a shinier surface and make give more working time to wet with a brush. Very pleased with it otherwise and it comes at a very reasonable cost.
