This product changed everything. Why Apple allowed that little black remote with awful touchpad to be produced is beyond me, arguably the worst thing to ever come from Apple is that little remote. This option is excellent, works flawlessly and feels more like a real remote control in your hands. If you love the touchpad from your original remote this one still has a similar feature with the circle pad but in so many different ways. Works almost like a click wheel where you can run your finger around clockwise to advance frames or counter clockwise to reverse/rewind. This feels better in my hands and has more weight to it as well as a more ergonomic feel thanks to the curved bottom. The buttons are stronger and give more of a click feel and, now you can turn off the unit without having to go into the menu and tell it to sleep. The latest version also charges via USB-C which is fine with me, but unless you have a charging cable already you’ll need to buy one because a charging cable is not included. This one does not charge with your lighting cable! I’ve heard there are some out there from the original replacement remote batch that did charge with a lightning cable but I can’t promise that.
