Review: Now... if only I could teach her how to flush.... - I've now had the litter kwitter for around 5 months, and I didn't want to review it until I'd had enough time to try it with my 4 y/o Siamese. She's a picky little cat, and not really all that bright quite frankly! I really didn't think she would take to the learning curve of a new toilet routine, so I was very sceptical; particularly with regard to suboptimal hygiene around the toilet for any picky humans to discover. Still, after a couple of false starts due to having to travel abroad for work and holidays I had a couple of months to try getting her used to the kit. The first step with the red tray was pretty easy. She was confused by the toilet shaped tray being right next to the human toilet, and kept and coming and meowing at me, but after a while she started using it like her regular tray. The step up to the toilet bowl was a bit tricky. I was impressed that the toilet cover that holds the 3 stage trays fitted so well, as I had imagined it slipping off and having to clean up a nasty feline mess. In fact it's very sturdy, and very easy to keep clean. Where she did slightly miss the red tray, the mess could just be cleaned off with a detergent wet wipe. Only once did anything "escape", and it wasn't a disaster. Moving onto the orange tray after about 3 weeks produced more confused mewling, but the day I went in the bathroom and saw the business in the bottom of the bowl was so good. I gave her lots of praise, and head strokes to give her confidence, and she was soon used to the new method. It was in fact always a bit of giggle in the house to suddenly hear the very human like tinkling in the bowl :) With treats and praise, so she knew she was doing things correctly, I got her to the stage were I just left the white surround on the toilet rim (I peeped to watch her a couple of times and she was struggling to keep her balance without it). Only for a week or 2 though. In fact now, she's perfectly okay with the procedure, and I've removed the surround altogether. Not only that, but I think she seems to appreciate the fact that her business just disappears (underwater). She's so pleased with herself afterwards, she comes to see me shimming her tail straight up in the air and meowing like a proud 6 year old child (well minus the tail...), just to let me know that I'm required to go and do the flush. So for me, my glistening white tile bathroom, my fresh smelling apartment, completely devoid of annoying grains of cat litter underfoot, and my very clean, very happy cat, this product is a revelation. I've even had friends ask to come round and watch her go to the toilet. So many people don't believe me, and my mum just thought it was nonsense. That was until she came to stay for 3 weeks whilst I was holiday, and witnessed the miracle for herself :)
Review: Great but you need the cooperation of the cat - This was a great idea, you need to purchase a special flushable cat litter separately. That special cat little is made with Barley which isn't suitable for people with Coeliac disease or a Barley allergy as the dust goes everywhere. One cat Lovely got the idea quickly and used the litter kuitter very well. The other cat Bear had no idea and didn't use it at all. Be aware this doesn't work on all cats

## Questions & Answers

**Q: just moved up to amber stage, and my cat seems more interested in putting her head and paws down the hole than actually using the toilet. Any tips?**
A: This is totally normal inquisitive behaviour - let her do it she will soon get bored of looking and seeing the same thing. Ours did this for about two weeks then grew out of it. I honestly couldn’t ever go back to litter trays. Keep persevering the litter kwitter is amazing. You won’t regret it.

**Q: Is it possible to buy more clips separately? We seem to have lost most of them!**
A: Sorry ask the supplier.

**Q: What happens when we want to use the same bog?have we gotta take the kitty rings off? I doubt I will make it in time. ha ha**
A: You will have to take it off until the day you get down to the white base itself (the ring holder) when you have no rings. Eventually, looking at some Youtube videos, you should be able to get rid of that as well. It's not a big deal to take it off. You just lift it up in one go - it's very well designed - and put it down somewhere until you've finished your business. And then put it back. You might feel you need to wash your hands twice. The extra time is after touching the tray and before doing your business. If you're thinking of investing be sure to also get the two ring set that makes the hole and the shock less hazardous for the cat. Gradualness is everything. By the way, we keep a step beside the loo for the cat to climb up on (probably get rid of it later) and we rest the tray there while doing our business. Don't let the cat in while you're doing your business as he/she may try to use the tray while it's on the box. And don't forget the tray will have a hole in it!And do use biodegradable litter. We use Oko Plus Cat's Best. Can dump it down the loo. Clumps really well. Tracks a bit unfortunately. (I know all the jargon, unfortunately. I hope to get my life back real soon!) Biidegradable is worth using even if you stay with a regular tray. Just remove the soiled bit and flush it. Replace with a fresh bit. Every two weeks dump the lot in the rubbish. You don't want to block your toilet. It probably even works out cheaper, certainly less messy, than the ordinary type. It all sounds harder than it is. Luck ;)

**Q: What type of litter is flushable? I recently got non-clumping wood pellets, would this be ok to flush?**
A: Not all wood based litters flushable. Check zooplus.co.uk for some good flushable litter. I use Cat's Best Öko Plus which isn't very expensive. Some wood based litters are flushable but some aren't.If your litter is flushable, you should stick to it so you dont have to get your cat used to the new litter as well, but check online first!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant. Superb. Awesome. On the final ring (only a wee bit of plastic)...
*by A***R on 13 October 2015*

Probably make your life and that of the cat easier if you get the extra 2 rings from the MultiKatKit. The holes are a bit daunting otherwise. Update 16/Nov/15: Well, I wouldn't have believed it (though obviously we had hopes) but the cat (10 years old) is on the final ring (the green one). Yesterday we reduced the litter in that with the aim of having him get used to being totally without cat litter before we remove this, the very last ring, and move him onto the final stage of White holder only (the white holder is always in place - it fits over the toilet bowl and holds the current ring). Eventually we intend to get rid of the white holder as well though we might leave it there. Depends on feedback from the cat! Leaving it in place wouldn't be a big deal but we'll see. He doesn't do his business on the ring anymore (mind you, it's so narrow he'd need to be quite the sharpshooter to land anything on it) - he does his business straight through the hole. I notice he's still using the ring to balance one paw on. This last ring has only about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of plastic all around so hopefully he won't miss it when it goes. I notice that without any teaching he's learnt over time to face the right way. Just as well - wouldn't want to frighten the horses. Already saving a fortune on cat litter and hardly any tracking now that there's so little cat litter in that final green ring. We still have a box in there beside the loo that he uses as a step - though he doesn't use it getting off the loo. Initially we had the rings with the white holder on that and eventually when he was used to the height just moved it onto the loo. At the very beginning we had the red ring on the floor beside the loo and gradually raised it until it was roughly loo height then moved it onto the loo and only then started changing the rings. Read all the reviews - loads of info in there that thought us a lot. Thanks guys. And be sure to go on youtube to see how cats do their business and that'll inspire and amaze you. Yeah, I know how that sounds. Must get out more. And don't get the cut out system in case you need to go back to an earlier ring (we didn't have to go back). And do get the extra 2 rings. A bit expensive initially (those 2 rings should really be included) but well worth it. Very well made product - extremely strong. Faultless. Indeed, downright clever! That's enough to be going on with...
