Good morals to the stories with interesting and unusual characters. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another Worthwhile Addition; however... *by J***G on 6 July 2009* The third volume in this series begins with the last episode of the second (episode 27.Aunt Jane) so be forewarned. Apart from that, a great addition to the colletion. The quality isn't flawless - there's some static, for example - and the music is, at times, out of tune, but this doesn't make it any less enjoyable. It's an old series, after all.For those of you who may not know about the Moomin series, it's certainly worth buying one of the three volumes currently avaliable. I enjoyed them as a kid; now they hold a nostalgic quality. I therefore can't easily judge whether an adult whose never seen Moomin before would enjoy it. Nevertheless, I feel it by far surpasses modern cartoons, both in its characters and plots. They are simple, but not patronising. The focus is in the right place: character and story. The dialogue is witty, and works on a number of levels, though all are accessible by the young target audience. The music and sound effects also aid the humour, making it an altogether fun experience.So why 4, instead of 5, stars? Well, the first volume contained my favourite episodes - those I remember watching as a kid - for one; these are just as good from an objective point of view. But also I felt that the mistake of putting episode 27 in this volume, the use of the same screenshots on the back cover, and mistakes in the text on the back of the sleeve, justified the reduction.The list of episodes:27.
