Mine is light grey and it’s fine on mine. There is no colour to it. I find a slightly damp beard is better for applying as it seams to coat better. You need to rub your hands together to emulsify the balm, then apply. The tin says heavy duty, but I don’t find it is. Your beard doesn’t seem to feel like it has anything in it or weighting it down. Overall a nice product. **Q: What makes this heavy duty as apposed to the regular balm? Is it actually better?** A: It's a long time since I used the regular balm but I have a big beard & found the heavy duty balm did give me a bit more hold than the regular. I've tried a few different brands but this is the only one I use now, I found it's the best one for my beard. **Q: Does this look really greasy once in the beard like some balms do?** A: I found it a little greasy. But found when it had been in a while. It dried up and you find dried pieces in your beard. I’m not using now as shaved off beard. Smells ok but that’s about it.
