On an electric hob... Took longer than I imagine gas would have but got to pressure... Scared myself when the steam comes out.. But works perfectly. Only complaint is the manual looked tatty, there were a few machine marks and machine oil left on from factory and the rubber seal was dirty...suspect quality control is not the best in India and the factory is dirty? If you follow the instructions to the letter you should be able to can meat and fish safely. **Q: Can this be used on induction hob?
