While our clays and glazes are non-toxic and carry the AP seal from The Art and Creative Materials Institute, they have not been tested for use with food for direct or indirect contact and cannot be recommended for that use." I hope this is useful. **Q: Do you need to bake this after putting on polymer clay already baked items?** A: The Sculpey Satin Glaze can just be painted on like a varnish and doesn't need to be baked again. On one hand I love it, sometimes you need to glaze your polymer clay items but don't want them shiny and this is perfect for that. It gives a beautiful matte look to your creations and dries really quickly. I generally only need to use one or two coats and the finished item comes out looking great. On the other hand I've noticed that things glazed with the satin glaze become dirty easily. Dirt just seems to be attracted to it as apposed to the gloss alternative. Having said this I'd still buy this product again. The jar looks small but it goes a long way.
