Any plastic?** A: If I remember correctly there's only plastic film round the box, sachets are in like a foil pack and probably be recycled as no recycle logo on individual package. **Q: is it kosher certified?** A: kosher yeast? Never heard of it. It's good stuff though **Q: What is the use by date on the packs?** A: 27.01.2016 But please note that these were purchased several months ago - possibly over 12! We found the use by date was more than sufficient. **Q: is this product organic?** A: There is no indication that it is organic, it is manufactured in France, gluten free but contains sorbitan monosterate as an emulsifier. There are several options for gluten free flours but it is very hard to find yeast with no gluten. This Doves Farm Quick Yeast is the only one I have found (there may be others but I've not seen them) and it works very well. We have used it for hand baked bread and in a bread machine with excellent results. Gluten free baking does require some experimentation but this yeast works brilliantly in every experiment.
