I heard his music for the first time about 6 months ago (approx) on an internet radio station. He is very talented, and has stayed true to Hawaiian culture, along with singing soft, popular songs. He has an amazing range of talent. Very soothing voice, very pleasing to listen to. His Hawaiian chants are interesting, as well. Through him, I have learned more about Hawaii than I had known before. Since hearing his songs, I have bought several of his CDs and I am considering buying his DVD. I have given this to all of my friends as gifts, and everybody, even those who have no exposure to Hawaiian music, LOVE it! It opens with the hauntingly lovely Nu Oli, and continues with some old favorites such as Silent Night, sung in both English and Hawaiian. Breathtaking! The title song, Maluhia, is classic Reichel. His voice is soothing and this album rejoyces in the season. Get it.
