Not cheap but if looked after properly you'll only ever need to buy it once. Edit: because the brass roller spends a lot of time in the honing slurry, before putting this tool away I give the roller bearings a good toot of WD40 to prevent fluid ingress and possible seizure.

This has taken my sharpening of plane irons and chisels to the next level. Sturdy, easy to use and well made. Not cheap but if looked after properly you'll only ever need to buy it once. Edit: because the brass roller spends a lot of time in the honing slurry, before putting this tool away I give the roller bearings a good toot of WD40 to prevent fluid ingress and possible seizure.
