In depth: Cover and manufacturing quality: The book has a plain navy hardback cover- which is then covered with the paper cover you see in the image - aka. the cover image itself isn't printed on the actual "hardback cover". Only issue with this is that like any hardback book with a paper cover - the paper cover can be easily damaged or ripped. I personally remove the paper cover when I read the book so not to bend or rip it. However, I personally prefer the plain cover hardback with cover - I am just including this in case anyone thinks it's printed on the actual hardback. So just be sure to remove the paper part if you don't want it to get ripped or bent when reading. The paper inside the book is very thick and sturdy. Wouldn’t easily rip or be damaged. Good quality pages that are sewin well into the cover. Overall, the manufacturing quality of the book is extremely high. Photography and Design inside book: There is a lot of great photography inside as well and the designs and fonts in the book are lovely. To me, it's very clear that a lot of thought went into this book and the quality of the book holds true to this statement. The images inside the book are all in black and white and some of the poems are written over the images or on the page beside them. There many more poems contained in the book than I initially realised, and I was surprised at the thickness of the book when I received it. I read this most nights before bed and even when I re-read the same poems, I never fail to find something I didn't see the first time I read the poem. Style of writing and poems: I have noticed that some other reviews have tarnished this book as “juvenile” or “silly” and I must disagree. I think the thing about these reviews is that they were just unfamiliar with his work and perhaps expected something else when they ordered his book. On the other hand, I was familiar with his style of writing from following him on socials or reading snippets of the book online. I purely bought the book because Atticus has a beautiful style of writing, not for some sort of in depth and intricate poetry that had multiple meanings and hidden messages. His straightforward, simplistic style of writing may seem “juvenile” or “silly” to someone that opens the book and is expecting intricate and detailed meanings in every poem but what these people don’t realise is that the very beauty of his poems is this simplicity. I love how I can pick up this book at any time and just delve into a world where Atticus lays his love out in this raw and authentic way. He doesn’t need huge gestures or hidden meanings in his poems to show this. He says exactly what he feels, straightforward and unashamed. It’s a book that can be read at any time, any place and automatically show you how it feels to truly love someone in a realistic and genuine way - even in his shortest poems, this core message is so evidently portrayed. His sincere and simplistic style of writing is the main thing that should be appreciated about this book, not bashed upon, and called “juvenile”. I didn’t buy this book for a poetry analysis or for mind twisting meanings. I purchased it to read on a stormy night with soft music playing to help me relax – and it does so perfectly.
