I've a brilliant very, very lightweight Sennheiser earphone/mic set I use for Skype when travelling - my new netbook-cum-tablet thing (running Win 8.1 - yuk yuk - I still miss XP ) only has one port for headphone/microphone so purchased this item to go into the tablet part of my new 'convertible' . I followed instructions to the letter (not complicated - just says to ensure the microphone is not muted or headset might not be detected by computer), plugged in and fired up Skype and it all worked a treat. The product is very robust and well made as you would expect from Sennheiser, This particular item was difficult if not (almost) impossible to find on Amazon, I spent ages typing in search bar variations on 'Headset Splitter Adapter', then always read the 1 or 2 star reviews and did not like what I was reading about most of the makes; so I searched Sennheiser's own website for what I wanted and copied the details into Amazon and was really pleased when this page popped up. Why on earth is it so hidden? It matches beautifully with my Sennheiser earphone/mic set which is many years old, but still like new too - guess you get what you pay for (an old boss once counselled "buy cheap. buy twice" and sometimes that is true).
