I like the design, the handle fits the palm nicely. The blades are very sharp and double edged to give double life. The blade is secured in place by 3 lugs and held by the blade guard which held by the thumb screw. The blade guard easily slides back after just half a turn on the thumb screw. ( I find the simplest way is to hold the scarper with the blade upward, release the the thumb screw and let the guard slide down exposing the blade edge, re-tighten the thumb screw and it's ready to use) reverse the procedure to securely cover the blade edge.
