You drive the mat and the whole Optishot unit down when you hit it. It sometimes makes a loud "Clack" sound. I know someone else who has one and occasionally has the same mishits. It doesn't seem to hurt it though I've hit it quite hard a couple of times. Certainly it has not suffered any noticeable damage. It is a very robust unit! **Q: Can this be used outdoors?** A: No, it is meant for indoor use. The Ballflight system (available direct) is able to be used outside. **Q: Do you need a projector to get the image of the course on your impactor screen?** A: Yes, you need a projector to put the course and the shot info on the impact screen. Without one, you can only see this on the laptop or pc screen that you use to run Optishot. **Q: Dose it come with an impact screen** A: Thx for your request. The OptiShot2 comes with the measurement unit and the software, no impact screen! As a single handicap golfer this practice tool is great for your long game but you will need to buy a putting mate to get the best out of it.
