This method was also better for my back and shoulders. To get the most dead material out of the lawn, I went over a second time a few days later, perpendicular to the previous direction. I would recommend you keep an eye on the four nuts (two either end) that hold the tool together, and tighten them every so often with a 10mm spanner. Review: Good but could be better - The angle is not adjustable so I found I had to be very low down to get a good angle to scrape the ground enough. Therefore it's a bit of a back breaker! Also the prongs move slightly so I found I had to adjust them back to get the best possible angle. That said, it did a good job (much better than raking) and was cheaper than others. It also doesn't come with a shaft. **Q: Is the item comes whith handle** A: Mine didn't. bought and fitted one. **Q: What size handle does this use? The one shown as frequently bought together does not fit** A: I just bought a normal wooden shaft you find on any cheap mop but taper the end so it slips deep into the head. I made sure and used plenty of screws to secure it. Not ideal but it works. But preferably you want a really long handle so you aren't bent over as much when using this. The forks are at an angle which requires the head to be almost horizontal with the ground to actually scarify/dethatch. Fyi - This tool is tough work to use.
