From the manufacturer More about the Product The safe uses keypad code entry with a key back-up for emergency access or lockout. There are 10,000 possible combinations using a 3-8 digit programmable code. The time lock feature operates after 3 incorrect entries (lockout for 20 seconds) and 6 incorrect entries (lockout for 6 minutes). It features 16mm locking bolts that are retracted by the handle once the correct code has been entered or when the back-up key is used. The LED light indicators are used as follows: green to open, red for error and low battery warning. The Yale YSV/200/DB1 Safe has ( H x W x D): 20 x 32 x 20 cm externally and weighs 5 kg. Review: Great Value and very sturdy... but don't lose the key. - I installed my safe about five years ago and it has been working flawlessly since then. I haven't needed to open it often - just when I needed our passports or other important documents out but it was a simple matter of tapping in the combination, hearing the beep and turning the handle and it opened. No problem. Until about two weeks ago, when I input the combination, heard the beep and turned the handle ... and nothing happened. I thought something had caught inside the safe and jammed the mechanism as the keypad was still making the beeping noises. I searched around and fortunately found the keys. These did open the safe without any problem. I replaced the batteries and it is again, working perfectly. The batteries must not have had quite enough power to move the internal mechanism enough to open the safe lock. I am now going to set a reminder to change the batteries every year or two. Just don't lose those very handy keys. Otherwise, a great little safe.

**Q: How long roughly would cheese last in this safe? My grandma keeps stealing it from my fridge and this could be a way to stop her.**
A: I would recommend encasing the cheese in clear epoxy resin. Once fully hardened it can be highly polished and felt glued to the base.
This would not just make a fantastic paperweight but also preserve the prize cheese for eternity. 
P.S. If your grandma still manages to eat the cheese then you will have no worries about anyone else breaking into your home.

**Q: What type of batteries does this need? Ive hit an issue with my current safe as needs AA P6D which are smaller than the usual AA LR6 batteries. Thx**
A: Hi, it takes the usual AA batteries.  The spring which you put -ve side of battery is quite long so this would also take the shorter ones. Decent safe for the money and easy programed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice and neat and not too big

I bought in November but only just got around to setting it up. Slight struggle at first before I realised that the door needed to be open before inserting a code for the first time. After that it was easy peasy. Not too big, but that was the idea, and tucks nicely away out of sight. Two keys included and if you lose you can order them direct from Yale. Instructions are a bit airy fairy, too many languages involved, better to have a set for each language and not one line of instructions in many languages and then do the same for subsequent lines. Otherwise a good buy.
