Review: Brilliant addition to any mac! - I decided in the track pad rather than the Magic Mouse as personal preference after spending time with both courtesy of a friend. I often plug my 13" MacBook Air into my 42" TV for a little large screen web browsing, watching films or staring at essays hoping for enlightenment. I used to attach an old Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard to the laptop with some clunky looking receiver and stupidly long cable, but it lacked the multitouch/gesture features which have become an every day part of my computer usage. The design of the track pad is true apple style, sleek, elegant and generally appealing to look at, but of course that's fine for when it's sat not being used. More importantly, the size of the pad is perfect, 80% bigger than the MacBook Pro's I believe' that doesn't mean a lot to many people but to me, it's bigger and perfect, makes the multitouch and gestures a lot easier, and resting your wrist just in front of the pad is perfectly comfortable for hours of use with no problem (something which I couldn't find with the Magic Mouse) I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery power but a solid 5 hours web browsing and minecraft session after set up didn't cause the battery percentage to drop even 1% (found under trackpad settings in system preferences) All in all, it's a great purchase for any mac (or even pc, but the lack of multitouch gestures would make it pointless for PC users) I would highly recommend, but shop around! don't pay apples £59, I picked up the wireless keyboard and track pad on desertcart from just over £100! Pros: - beautiful design - ease of use - simple connectivity (turn on track pad, then Bluetooth, it finds it, click connect. DONE!) - large surface area for multitouch gestures - a little more ergonomic than the Magic Mouse - decent Battery life Cons: - the price! As with all apple products but quality comes at a price.. - going back to the laptops trackpad may cause frustration losing all that space!
Review: Works just like the macbook pro trackpad - I have a strong preference for touchpads over mice so I was pretty delighted upon hearing about this being released by Apple. I have another touchpad made by Adesso that I use with desktops, but it is wired and not nearly as nice or large as the Apple one. This trackpad works exactly like the built-in one on the macbook pro. It's slim and very elegant looking. There is no lag like you get with wireless optical mice. The glass surface, however, has a bit of 'texture' to it unlike the macbook's trackpad which is shiny. It's almost like a matte finish to it which is ok as a perfectly shiny glass surface can stick a bit if your fingers are a little sweaty. (But if your fingers are dry, the shiny feels a little better :) It's well constructed and seems sturdy. The top part that holds the battery feels cool like aluminum though I'm not sure if it is. But it's not cheap plastic. It has a nice solid feel and I'm extremely happy with it. I visited the local Apple store to try it out before buying, but they did not have it in yet. But I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it from Apple because it's exactly what I wanted. I will never use another mouse again! When you get it, make sure that you update your OS software to get the trackpad drivers. It will work without the update but you won't be able to adjust it and features will be missing. You might have your computer on auto update in which case you don't need to worry about this. But if you're a weirdo like me and prefer to manually update, then keep this in mind. When the batteries die, I'll update this review to give a sense of how long the batteries last.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Quality Overpriced Product
*by B***V on 16 September 2013*

As with all Apple products, you get a very stylish and well made piece of equipment that feels and works well. This trackpad coonnects with a Macintosh without problem. If you use Boot Camp Windows be prepared for problems connecting caused by software, not hardware. If Apple sort it out then the issue will be resolved but it has been going on four at least four years. Having a fairly large surface area the pad is great for swiping, zooming and rotating with the Mac but limited in Windows to pointing, clicking and basic scrolling. I personally find it does not perform well as a pointing device and prefer to use the mouse, a problem I do not encounter with a laptop trackpad. For what you get the added functionality does not justify the high cost and therefore personally considered to be overpriced.
