Definitely soothes instantly without much sting! But the smell... a really appealing, modern blue freshness. I get a lot of citrus and aniseed from it, it almost reminds me of the latest Aramis - Intuition. Very simple aquatic blue but does the job and leaves you feeling new again. The scent projection is a little subtle to be honest, I own a bottle of Jovan Musk and Whitewater is much more subdued compared to that.
