Review: Great Product - With all the rain and bad weather I decided to re proof my new car AUDI A4 CAB which has a fabric automated soft top. I Thought teh price was good and the product worked perfectly, water now neatly beads on top and it was easy to apply with instructions on the bottle. This product provides two uses for a whole soft top. Product tells you to wash of IMMEDIATELY from paintwork or glass if you manage to miss the hood. This is inevitable as the whole hood needs to be generiously covered. Initially i paniced as when I tried to wash it off with water it looked like it had corroded the finish off my paintwork! HOWEVER I was wrong and instead it appeared to just leave a water resistant substance on the paintwork and glass. this is easily removed with some AUTO GLYM super resin polish. Great product great price, protects one of the most expensive parts of the car, Well worth doing before winter Review: Effective Product, excellent customer service - I've marked this 5 stars even though I had some problems. There was a fault with the proofer product that came from desertcart but Autoglym customer service have been briilant and sent me a replacement. I used this on the original hood of my 2004 Mazda MX5 which had started to absorb water rather than repel it. The Autoglym shampoo is excellent, it's really easy to apply - just use on a dampened surface. The sponge it comes with did the job fine and I didn't have to report to a scrubbing brush or similar. I hadn't realised how dirty the hood was, normal car shampoo obviously is not nearly as effective as this product. The water was green! It did take a lot of rinsing to remove all the shampoo but you must do this or the proofer might not work. The proofer just sprays on, yopu just have to make sure there is no overspray. I unclipped the hood and put a large sheet under it which covered the doors and windscreen so I only had to mask the rear window. I don't think its going to cover up nay sort of holes in your soft top. **Q: Hi, do you use half the contents as it says on the back? it just seems quite a fair bit for my MX5. thanks** A: Hi You don’t need a great deal of the cleaner depends how bad it is. As for the rainproofer I would use half to make sure it’s watertight and it works really well! Be sure to not get too much overspray on the bodywork and if you do wipe it off. **Q: I left my mini standing convertible standing at parents for a year and came back to horrible interior mould, esp. roof. :( Will this remove?** A: Well I would only use on the roof, but yes my roof had gone green with mold also. It took about 3 hours to do mine but I made sure I did the job correctly. You only get out of it by what you put in to it. If you expect to apply and just wash off then it’s not going to happen for you especially if your roof is/was like mine. Plan the job and it should work out fine. I used a battery drill with a scrub brush attachment to get the dry green mold dust out first then a vacuum cleaner then the auto gleam cleaner again with the scurbing brush. The hood now looks really tidy and is much more water repellent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Roof protection *by S***Y on 12 September 2022* Easy to follow instructions, clearly set out. On my Ds3 fabric roof, I started with the cleaning procedure, very easy to use in conjunction with the special sponge which was supplied in the kit. I rinsed the car first to moisten the roof, which also helped keep the spray off the paintwork, then applied the spray as instructed and gently agitated in circular patterns until the whole roof was covered, I left the soap solution to soak in, 20 mins or so, then scrubbed again and rinsed thoroughly with a low pressure hose until clear. I removed excess water from roof, then applied in sweeping motions applied the roof protector and sealer, being careful to keep away from paintwork, I immediately removed from bodywork with a wet cloth. No further work was needed with the protector, just to apply it evenly and allow to fully dry before using, I then washed the body of the car to remove any over spray. The kit is fantastic, the cleaning solution removed all green algae and was very evident on the white sponge which rinsed out easily. The roof didnt require vigorous rubbing or scouring, and was easy, it cleaned up great, my roof is so much brighter! The protecting and sealing spray was incredibly easy and fast. The next day it tipped it down with rain of biblical proportions (as it usually does when I clean my car) and the rain stayed beaded on my roof until It dried, it's fantastic.
