## Description

Product Description The Earth’s Moon is the most popular object to observe with a telescope. It’s an obvious target that’s easy to locate and full of exciting geographical features to explore. The Celestron Moon filter enhances lunar viewing by cutting down on the Moon’s bright glare, improving contrast and making faint details easier to observe. Most amateur astronomers keep a Moon filter on hand as an essential part of their observing kit because it provides a more comfortable view and reduces eye fatigue. But a Moon filter isn’t just for the Moon; it also boosts contrasts when viewing deep-sky objects from a light polluted areas. And for terrestrial observers, the Moon filter offers to take down the brightness when viewing land-based targets around sand and snow. The Celestron Moon Filter simply screws onto the insert barrel of most 1.25” eyepieces and can stack with other 1.25” filters. Manufacturer's Description Celestron’s Moon Filters are economical eyepiece filters for reducing the brightness of the moon and improving contrast, so greater detail can be observed on the lunar surface. The clear aperture is 21mm for the 31.7mm filter. Transmission is about 18%

Review: Perfect Lunar Views Without the Glare – High-Quality and Easy to Use! - I recently purchased the Celestron 1.25 inch Moon Filter and I have to say, it’s an outstanding product. If you enjoy lunar observation, this filter is a game-changer. The biggest challenge with viewing the moon through a telescope is often the harsh glare, which can wash out details and make the experience uncomfortable for your eyes. This filter completely solves that problem. Once fitted, it’s immediately noticeable how much softer and more detailed the moon appears. The craters, maria, and ridges are much clearer, and you can comfortably observe for longer periods without straining your eyes. The filter is very easy to fit into standard 1.25-inch eyepieces — it feels solid and well-made, not flimsy at all. The build quality is excellent. The glass is clean and the black metal housing has a nice, sturdy feel. I’ve tried cheaper filters before, and they often distort the view or feel cheap, but this one is professional-grade and really makes a difference. Overall, if you want to enjoy the moon in all its glory without being blinded by glare, the Celestron Moon Filter is an excellent choice. Easy to use, high quality, and highly effective — it has become an essential part of my lunar observation setup.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the Celeston moon filter fit the Skywatcher 76 Heritage**
A: As the others have already replied check that the eye piece and the filter are both the same ie. 1.25" The filter screws into the barrel of the eye piece, then you just replace the eye piece in the scope as normal.

**Q: does this fit the celestron nexstar 8se?**
A: If it’s a filter it should screw into a recess on the end of your eyepiece before you slot it into the telescope.

**Q: will this fit on the celestron 21061 astromaster 70az refractor telescope**
A: This filter will fit any telescope which uses a 1.25 inch eyepiece as it screws into the front of the eyepiece prior to inserting into the focuser. Hope this is clear and helps

**Q: Hi will this fit the celestron SLT 102 ?**
A: The filters are not relative to the actual scope but to the eyepiece used. So any 1.25 inch filter will screw into the front of the eyepiece prior to inserting the eyepiece into of any scope which has a 1.25 inch focuser or a 2 inch focuser with a reducer to 1.25 inch. Hope this is clear and helps.

Good quality cover, easy to use, good size, good clarity good to use

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works for ALL 1.25" eyepieces (all brands, makes, types). Cheap plastic, but does what it's supposed to do.
*by D***K on 31 October 2016*

This works with ALL 1.25" eyepieces (all brands, makes, types - at least made within the last couple of decades or so...). No need to ask for your particular telescope, the silver tube at the bottom of 1.25" eyepieces has a thread where you fit filters. I was puzzled by some people claiming it does not fit the "Travel Scope" eyepieces and could not figure out what they mean (see image bellow, the filter threaded on one of my Travel Scope's original eyepieces). Then I noticed someone answering a question mentioning that it won't fit because the eyepiece instead of a thread has only a "rubber flange". Well, it seems he is trying to fit the filter on the top part of the eyepiece! So, it does what it is supposed to do, it darkens the moon, although it gives it a greenish tint which I don't particularly like, but most moon filters give a color tint anyway. It is a poorly made plastic that holds the filter, so they could not have been cheaper when making this, and it's a shame, but I can't say it will break easily or anything like that. Oh, don't just go out and buy a moon filter if you don't actually need it - make sure the glare of the moon does bother you first. And a little hint: sunglasses also work, just remember to take them off after viewing the moon ;)
