Review: Tip top electric hedge cutter - RECOMMENDED! - Hedgecutter exactly as advertised - and my hedge is now nice and back under some form of manageable control! :) - 9/10. Description on the website, as is the case with all Bosch equipment, stunningly accurate - 8/10 Works well for trimming hedges, is nice and light and easy to operate, even on higher hedges (above head height) - 9/10. Even cuts through (with some patience and careful manoeuvring), tough branches which are a little thicker than the advertised cutting capacity - 8/10 Easy to set up, easy to use - no complaints about the hedge cutter at all - 9/10 Value for money - 9/10 (One minor gripe did exist on the side of fulfilment and delivery, but that is a problem that was strictly down to the courier in question, and has been dealt with directly with desertcart and a visit by me to the courier company. Rating of the courier company - 0/10, but as I have stated, this was dealt with separately. This review is purely about the hedge cutter itself). Review: Hedge Trimmer - Product arrived within specified time period. Other reviewers have commented on the packaging. I found it well packaged and the packaging was undamaged. There was no damage to the blade. In spite of having a longer than usual blade it is reasonably light. For safety reasons it requires a two handed operation which I think is common to all hedge trimmers. It is noticeably quieter than my previous trimmer (not a Bosch) and cuts well. It does not cut thick stems - for that you would need its big brother but for the size of stems for which it is designed, it works very well and is not too heavy to handle. Length of cable is quite adequate. If it were significantly shorter, it would be too short but if it were much longer then it it be too long to coil round the handle when not in use. Hence overall no hesitation in giving five stars. ## Features - Lightweight ergonomic design with soft-grip handle for easy operation and comfortable to use - Powerful 450 W Bosch motor - Diamond ground blades for a clean precise cut - Comes complete with a protective blade cover - 2 years parts and labour guarantee ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B004GTMO14 | | Best Sellers Rank | 622,741 in Garden ( See Top 100 in Garden ) 1,347 in Hedge Trimmers | | Blade Length | 600 Millimetres | | Blade Material | Diamond | | Blade length | 600 Millimetres | | Brand | Bosch Home and Garden | | Brand Name | Bosch Home and Garden | | Colour | Green | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,616 Reviews | | Cutting width | 600 Millimeters | | Included Components | 1 | | Item Type Name | Bosch AHS 60-16 Electric Hedge Cutter, 600 mm Blade Length, 16 mm Tooth Opening | | Item Weight | 2.8 kg | | Item weight | 2.8 kg | | Manufacturer | Bosch | | Manufacturer Part Number | 0600847D70 | | Material | Diamond | | Material Type | Diamond | | Model Number | 0600847D70 | | Power Source | AC | | Power source | AC | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Voltage | 240 Volts | ## Product Details - **Brand:** BOSCH - **Power source:** AC - **Colour:** Green - **Item weight:** 6.17 Pounds - **Blade length:** 600 Millimetres ## Images ![AHS 60-16 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71cgrtIyN7L.jpg) ![AHS 60-16 - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81HlO-Wy+uL.jpg) ![AHS 60-16 - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91guOyrUqSL.jpg) ![AHS 60-16 - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/A1CMxUuhVHL.jpg) ![AHS 60-16 - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71KPaJQ0WvL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: what is length of cable** A: Cable is approx. 33 feet in length. It is jointed into the cutter, unlike its earlier model which had a two prong jointing adaptor 12 inches from the unit. **Q: is there a safety cut off if i cut through the cable ? thanks** A: Please always use an RCD with this type of equipment. I cut through the cable and lived to tell the tale! **Q: Is it big enough to cut a Beech Hedge from the standpoint of Tooth Opening and of Power Strength?** A: I cut a Hornbeam hedge with mine and it just about copes. The odd branch that is too thick I trim with loppers but it usually does the job. Power has not been a problem. I think the toll is better suited to lightweight gardening tasks - privet hedges etc, but is capable of slightly more when asked. **Q: Where does it ship from** A: Somewhere in the UK ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tip top electric hedge cutter - RECOMMENDED! *by O***N on 15 September 2014* Hedgecutter exactly as advertised - and my hedge is now nice and back under some form of manageable control! :) - 9/10. As you'd expect Bosch make a sturdy and excellent trimmer and it gets through pretty much everything. My only criticism is that the cable does flap around and I'm terrified of cutting through it (inevitable!) and I wish they could design the system so it was less easy to do so - maybe some kind of light body harness that keeps it out of the way? --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pl/products/47916157-ahs-60-16](https://www.desertcart.pl/products/47916157-ahs-60-16) --- *Product available on Desertcart Poland* *Store origin: PL* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
