The plastic case and rubber buttons feel durable but not as nice as the OEM vw key. If you don't have the ability to swap the ignition key from the metal hinge you have to have the key blank cut as the old key won't fit in the new housing. Also the two havles of the key fob come apart a lot easier than the vw one. It maybe a problem of you have a big key chain that gets caught in your pocket, but otherwise its solid. MAKE SURE YOU SWAP OVER THE RFID CHIP OR YOUR CAR WILL NOT START. It is a black glass tube the size of a grain of rice, make sure you do not break it. Use nail polish remover to dissolve the glue. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These work awesome for my 02 VW GTI *by M***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 29, 2015* These work awesome for my 02 VW GTI. The pictures are somewhat misleading. The first picture shows a different fob than what you will recieve. The main picture has no split in the middle and the small led is located at at the top right. The fob you will recieve HAS the split in the middle and the led is located on the bottom portion to the right as soon in the other pictures. Be careful swapping over the RFID chip. Plastic computer/phone pry tools work well for it. Put a dab of silicone in the new RFID slot and you're good to go. As for the shell being too tight on the key after you transfer your key over, you can either shave down the sides a bit to match the oem fob or do what I did and wind the spring twice instead of once before closing it up. Stops it from binding up and is super powerful. Great deal. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Decent Product *by G***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 25, 2015* I have a 2002 Passat and bought this as a replacement for the old key housing since it was worn out and had a broken key ring. The install is easy and very straightforward; all of the original parts fit perfectly fine in the new housing. The product is nice, but definitely not perfect, as the button to release the key sticks and the key does not flip out easily. I hope that over regular use it will become less rigid.
