The tape is not clear either, more of a milky white. It is super thin, if that's what you need, very sticky. But really hard to remove the cover layer off, really requires a sharp object to dig into it to grab and pry it off. It is very easy to tear, I would not cut it with scissors, I would be afraid it would gum them up.
