I wanted a warm daylight color, a large output of light, and a multi-directional head. This lamp fills the bill perfectly, and I couldn't be happier. So why the reason for only 4 stars? Because it is a bitch to put together. Yes, it simply screws together like all torchieres do, but the directions lead you astray. For some reason they have you screw the top together first and then the bottom, leaving the middle section for last. But the middle section has the electrical components in it so is a little heavier than the other empty tubes. If you get the screw slightly misaligned, as I did, it ends up in a lot of swear words. I ended up having to unscrew everything, realign it all, this time starting from the bottom up.So my suggestion? Buy the lamp because it is great, but be prepared for the assembly to be a little challenging. And oh yes, when you first open the package, slip off and throw away all those little black plastic "bumpers" that come between the tubular parts. They are slit and if you push them to where the wire is between the tubes you can slip them off and discard. On mine, a few were tightly attached to some of the tubes and I thought they were part of the lamp. They are not. ### ⭐⭐ Great when it worked *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2019* Loved this light when we got it - the first one we got was damaged (bars were bent so it wouldn't connect) so we got a second one sent right away. It lasted for about a year maybe before the dimmer stopped working, along with half of the lights. It's still plenty bright for our needs, but I'm looking to replace it because the dimmer was really nice.Update: just shy of 2 years and the lamp has stopped working completely. For the price, I guess I can’t really complain. ### ⭐⭐ Disappointing *by C***M on Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2020* I probably should have sent this back when I first got it but chose not to. My mistake. It never did seem to get as bright as it should have. When the knob is turned it gets to a certain level of brightness and stops, even though the knob will still turn quite a bit more. So that was the first strike against it. Less than 2 years after purchasing it the lamp started to flicker sometimes, and then I noticed that it would get dimmer and dimmer as time went on. I would turn it up as high as it would go and a little while later I would notice that it was not as bright as it had been. Then sometimes it would jump back up to the original brightness for a little while, and then eventually jump back down. A couple of months after that started happening the lamp started to flicker a lot. It is very distracting and if I turn the knob back and forth maybe it will quit for a while, but the flickering always comes back. Sometimes I turn it off all the way and turn it back on and it will be semi-normal for a while but every day it flickers.
