If there were the design flaw would have been immediately apparent and, hopefully, corrected. As it is, the dish is too deep or the base is too short (take your pick) to accommodate the bulb provided. This is why the dish tilts. Were it not for this design flaw, I would've given it 5 stars and it would've been just what I was looking for. The plate rests about 1/4" above the top of the base and tilts to one side or the other. I tried other smaller bulbs, but they weren't hot enough to melt the wax.
