It is important to adjust the tension knob properly for the type of wood you are driving into. Hard woods like oak and walnut will require extra force for the points to enter sufficiently deep, while softer woods such as pine, basswood, and fiberboard require less force. I have had only one jam occur, due to incorrect tension on my part, but it was very easy to clear. If you've not used this type of device before, expect to make a mistake or two in the beginning as you get accustomed to it. but after that you will see how easily and effectively this tool performs. The gun shoots them in parallel to the back of the work you're mounting. I usually use flexible so removing the work is as easy as bending the point up. You can then pop in a new piece, fold down the point and you're done. The stiff points a easily removed with needle-one pliers after lifting an edge of the point to grab it. **Q: How deep can it drivr the ping into walnut and oak** A: It drives it in as far as it needs to. I use it on oak frames all the time. **Q: I am having trouble with my artwork shifting around the frame. The points aren’t holding it close enough. Am I doing something wrong.?** A: I use corners to hold the art to the backer, and hinge tape to hold the mat in place, so the art-mat-back sandwich doesn't shift on itself. Clean the glass two times and check it. The sandwich should be a close fit inside the frame, close but not a jam fit, just a little drag. The gun sits on the sandwich and presses it gently to the front of the frame for each shot; eight or ten should do it. There are good videos on the net. **Q: Does it come with flexipoints?** A: Yes it comes with a small amount of both flex and rigid points. I’d say about 50 of each.
