I can't imagine it could cause any damage. **Q: I need more mops pads not the handle?** A: Amazon sells the mop pads separately. **Q: Can swiffer pads fit on this?** A: I haven't tried using a swiffer pad on my 18" microfiber mop head but in looking at wet swiffer pads I have they aren't wide enough to cover the 18" mop head. The kit comes with 2 dry microfiber mop heads and a plastic brush type tool to clean the mop head off after use. I really like this. I have vinyl floors that just get a little dusty so I use the dry microfiber mop, clean it off and reuse it a few times before having to wash it. **Q: It gives the width but not length of mop head.
