In the winter the cold air won't blast in with the cover mounted on it. The cons: just throw the screws away, because they are junk. The head will strip out just by hand tightening. I was looking to re-frame my wall to my crawl space due to a new furnace needing installed. Had to cut open the wall to get it down there. I ordered this and it mounted perfectly over the hole covering up all the cosmetic damage. Definitely was worth it. A little pricey for a piece of plastic in my opinion, but I still highly recommend!
