I wished I had a camera that’s waterproof to record when I was in the pool with her. I wanted something that’s able to record in high definition but is inexpensive and durable. I chose this camera as opposed to a GoPro.Let’s be upfront, this camera doesn’t record the greatest 4k quality videos. What it does well is recording high definition content at 1080p. I just want to point out that the GoPro Hero 3 only do 1080p at 30 fps, but it’s priced at $200. 4K is being thrown around a lot when I shop for cameras due to marketing, but the reality is, not a lot of people record content in 4K to share with families and friend. Most people share videos that are in the range of 720p and 1080p and that’s already a hefty amount of data to upload. I want to share family videos at a waterpark to grandma, but I don’t want to email her 10Gb of data.This action camera is a great starter set and also a fantastic vacation camera. Because of its price point, I don’t baby it like how I do with my expensive Nikon DSLR camera. I find myself using this camera more just because I don’t care if I drop it or if it gets wet.
