The radio's manual state the charger should be 4.5V @ 200ma or the battery will be damaged. What's your experience?** A: The original ETON Adapter Part Number GPU3504 was: 4.5 volts with the center pin being negative with a maximum current of 100 milliamps (0.1 amps). The 3.6 volt battery pack is three 1.2 volt Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries in series. Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries are very sensitive to being charged. The charging voltage for each cell must be between 1.2 and 1.6 volts. Therefore the maximum charging voltage for the battery pack is 4.8 volts. The manual says; IMPORTANT NOTE: If using an AC adapter rated higher than 200 milliamps, unplug the internal rechargeable battery to avoid damaging it.
