One of the ceiling fixtures had constant power to the light with no light switch. There are not many nice fixtures with chain pulls so I bought a nicer light and purchased this. Because it is a rental I cannot expect all tenants to be tech experts, so the fact that it does not use WIFI was key. The receiver box is just small enough to fit inside the average ceiling fixture box. Took 5 extra minutes to wire it in between the ceiling box and my new fixture - remote switch worked instantly. The receiver was small enough to fit in the light kit box (typical 3 light kit made of metal) even with all the other wires and nuts in there. The switch works good and has enough range to control from anywhere in my 2 story home. The magnetic switch bracket has adhesive strips on the back to stick to the wall which makes for a good storage spot and prevents having to look for the transmitter every time you want to change lighting.
