The hammer action of an impact be hard on the saw's teeth. **Q: can this be used without the center drill bit? I need to use it like a plug cutter?** A: Any hole saw can be used as a plug cutter. Drill a hole in a scrap piece of wood. Afix the scrap to what you would like to make the plug out of. Remove the center bit. Put you hole saw into the scrap wood and drill out your plug.
