The instructions are clear. It fits right up flush over your electrical box and works with multiple screw spacings. It will also, via the included screw-in piece, fit into and over an existing ceiling can. The only thing that could be better is that the wire nuts are too small, although they might work if paired only with a 14 gauge wire. Otherwise, so you really should provide your own or else the wire connection may not hold - too dangerous a possibility to give this review 5 stars.Other than that, the light is 5000K which is very "white" or maybe blue-ish, and to my eyes somewhat harsh (see the last paragraph of this review for an alternative). It's also very, very bright, 1200 lumens, which is about equivalent to a 75 - 100 watt light bulb - you can't really look directly at it. (I haven't tried it, but it says it is dimmable, which is great.) A 5000 K color at around 75 - 100 watts is really easy to read under or do precision work. That may not be what you are looking for if you're thinking bedroom or family room, but is great for an office-like precision and sharpness. That's also accentuated by the fact that the light is somewhat directional, but because it is flat to the ceiling it is more dispersed than a spot light.I also bought the 3000K version, which is a more comfortable frequency but still very, very bright - the same 1200 lumens strength. I put it in a bedroom but it is too bright, so I plan to put a dimmer on it and I think it will be perfect. Installed by electrician, on new panel and all new rewire of home. 82 of another brand installed, no failures on any of those yet. These were from WEN.High probability more of these 12 will fail in next few days.
