**Q: Please confirm how many total wires in the receiver? Shows 7 on your advertising picture, however then it shows 6 on detail (orange wire missing**
A: Brown wire is the antenna. Blue wire is for the down light. If you fan has lighting, it is a down light. Some fans have an additional UP light which shines upward. The orange wire is used for that, along with the up light button on the remote. If you don't have the secondary up lighting on your fan you will not use the orange wire and the up light button on the remote is not used.

**Q: How to wire all six wires of the unit? Diagram shows only 5 wires unit**
A: You are correct in that all six wires are not addressed in the instructions that come with the unit.  The four wires that are on the output side are black, white,blue, and orange.  The black and white wires connect to the fan motor.  The blue and orange wire are associated with the light assembly.  The blue wire as indicated in the instructions when connected to the light will vary the voltage to the light when using the light down button on the remote.  If you use the orange wire instead of the blue wire the voltage will vary to the light when using the light up button on the remote.  Either button on the remote will work in dimming the light when pressed for a few seconds but it does not follow the wording on the button.   I am not familiar with a lighting assembly that would use both the blue and orange together.  It would most likely require some sort of a separate lighting module to accommodate both light up and down buttons.

**Q: Will this work on an Emerson fan with up and down lights?  Model cf 4500 (older model)**
A: This remote will control 2 separate lights (up/down, top/bottom, left/right).  This remote will not adjust ONE light brighter and dimmer (up and down).  
As either button is held down the luminosity cycles between the dimmest and the brightens on ONE of the lights until the button is released.  You can not use the top button to brighten and the lower button to dim a SINGLE light.

**Q: My hunter fan has a 85112-04 receiver. this looks identical, in size, shape and wiring connection. if i install this and use the remote will it work?**
